Srinagar, Dec 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Technical Employees Federation (JKTEF), Power Development Department, has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir to urgently intervene in the long-pending employment-related grievances of employees of the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL).

In a statement issued by the federation, it said that despite repeated representations, reminders and sustained follow-ups, several genuine service-related issues of KPDCL employees have remained unresolved for months in the office of the Chief Engineer-cum-Managing Director.

The federation said the prolonged and unexplained delays have caused widespread resentment and demoralisation among employees, adversely affecting their service rights, morale and career progression.

The federation maintained that the pending matters are purely administrative in nature and fall well within the jurisdiction and competence of the concerned authorities.

However, it said continued inaction and lack of accountability have compelled employees to seek intervention at the highest level. Warning of growing discontent, the federation informed that KPDCL employees will assemble peacefully at the office of the Chief Engineer-cum-Managing Director on the coming Monday to press for early redressal of their legitimate demands.

The federation has urged the administration to ensure the immediate disposal of all long-pending employment-related cases of KPDCL employees, fix responsibility for inordinate and unjustified delays, and issue clear, time-bound instructions to prevent recurrence of such lapses.

Expressing hope for timely intervention, the federation said swift and decisive action would help restore confidence in the administrative system and avert further unrest among employees.
