POST-WET SPELL SCENARIO: After fiber cuts, BSNL restores services: Principal GM

Srinagar, Aug 29: BSNL officials on Friday said that all its services have been fully restored across Jammu and Kashmir after being hit by the recent floods.

Principal General Manager of BSNL, Arvind Pandey said that the floods on August 27 had disrupted services after multiple faults occurred along the Jammu-Punjab service lines.

“BSNL was among the first service providers to restore local calling services in Kashmir and Ladakh. This was possible because of the disaster recovery mechanism available in Srinagar,” Pandey said.

He added that the restoration of calling facilities played an important role during the emergency situation. “Our men and machinery were immediately pressed into service to restore other facilities, and now all the faults have been cleared,” he said. Pandey said, internet and other telecom services are now fully functional across Kashmir. He also appreciated the role of district administration and government departments in supporting the restoration efforts. “The administration and other agencies provided us with all the necessary help to carry out the restoration work smoothly. Today, we can confirm that BSNL services are fully operational,” Pandey said.
