Kupwara, May 23: The residents of Munwan Balla in Awoora area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district Thursday accused private telecom operators of poor voice calls and mobile internet services due to which they were facing immense hardships.

The residents said that both postpaid and prepaid users experience bad voice and internet connectivity due to lack of a mobile tower in the village.

Locals said that they were facing immense problems due to erratic calling and internet services but the concerned authorities were watching as mute spectators.

Students of the area said that they were really suffering in absence of the internet which is telling upon their preparation for different competitive exams.

"The student community of our area is the worst hit because they are unable to take online classes due to poor internet connection," said a local who identified himself as Mohammad Ashraf.

"We have approached district administration and officials of cellular companies Jio and Airtel but every time we returned back with false promises," said another local resident.

They have sought immediate intervention of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan and other concerned officials so that their grievance is redressed at the earliest.
