Poonch woman repatriated by Pak authorities from LoC

Rajouri, Mar 19: Pakistani authorities on Tuesday repatriated a woman and her daughter, hailing from Poonch, who had exfiltrated to the other side last month.

Police had registered a case the aspect taking up necessary investigation and legal proceedings.

Officials said that on February 3, a young woman Shabnam Bi wife of Ghulam Rubani and her minor daughter went missing over which their families approached police and filed police complaint.

Later, officials said, it came to fore that the missing woman and her daughter are in PoJK and had exfiltrated over which cognizance of the matter was taken and a case was registered.

On Tuesday, the officials informed, a formal communication took place between authorities from Indian and Pak side after which the cross LoC gates at Chakan Da Bagh were opened. During this, the missing woman and her minor daughter were handed over to Indian authorities by team of officials from Pakistan side.

Army officers alongwith Executive Magistrate and doctors as well as a team of police were present at Chakan Da Bagh cross LoC point who all received the woman and her daughter from Pak authorities following which she has been shifted to local police station.

Police on the other hand said that necessary legal proceedings and investigation into the matter is going on.
