[Poonch terror attack] Day 4: Anti-terror operation continues in DKG forests
Rajouri, Dec 24: Security forces Sunday continued their anti-terror operation in areas of Dehra Ki Gali (DKG), Bufliyaz for the fourth straight day while mobile internet services also remained suspended in Rajouri and Poonch districts for the second day.
Joint teams of Army, JKP and Central Para Military Forces remained engaged in carrying out operations in the area which is still out of bounds for normal movement of civil population. Multiple checkpoints have been raised in the area, especially on the road between Thanamandi-DKG- Surankote.
The anti-terror operation in dense woods between DKG and Bufliyaz in Poonch’s Surankote sub division and areas bordering Thanamandi sub division of Rajouri district was launched on Thursday following terrorists’ attack on an army convoy.
The terrorists attacked army vehicles on this road at Danar Sawaniya Morh, which is a few kilometers short of Bufliyaz from the DKG side.
On the other hand, mobile internet services continued to remain suspended in the twin border districts today also.
Services were suspended on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday as a precautionary measure after the terror attack on army vehicles leading to death of four army personnel followed by mysterious death of three civilians, hailing from a village near the attack site.
Due to suspension, the users faced a lot of troubles in availing digital services for different purposes while students also called for restoration of services as suspension was hampering their studies related activities.
