Poonch Terror Attack | CASO enters day 7

Rajouri, May 11: Cordon and Search Operation (CASO), launched by security forces after an attack on Indian Air Force (IAF) vehicles at Shaistar in Poonch on May 4, entered its seventh consecutive day on Saturday.

Meanwhile, police continued questioning from those detained after this attack. Officials said that joint teams of Indian army and police continued CASO in villages of area including Shaistar, Danna, Jarran Wali Gali, Gursai Top and Sheindra.

They said, “Strict cordon in these areas was still in place and searches were going on, especially in deep forested areas.”

On the other hand, officials said that questioning of those detained by police was going on by forces. “Some of the detainees have been released, while questioning from others is still going on,” they said.

Officials added that senior officers were themselves monitoring the questioning.
