Poll environment in favour of NC: Mian Altaf

Kangan, Sep 22: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Mian Altaf Ahmed has said that the environment in the Jammu and Kashmir amidst the assembly election is in the favour of his party.

He said that the wave is in favour of the National Conference as the people are well aware about everything.

"The environment is in our favour. Wherever I go , I can see the people in our support. I am sure that the National Conference will form the next government “ Mian Altaf said while addressing a gathering of supporters in Gund area of Kangan. He exudes confidence that they have already won this Kangan seat.

Mian Altaf hit out at PDP saying that they are the ones responsible for bringing BJP here who later downgrading the state into UT and snatching “our special status.” NC leader further said that the PDP has nothing to say about him so they mislead people and divide them on the ST reservation for Kangan seat “that has nothing to do with me.” “ I have nothing to do with the ST reservation here it was done by the Delimitation commission who not reserved only Kangan as ST seat but several other constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir,” Altaf said. He said that he won  the elections from Kangan assembly seat  five times in past when it was not  a ST reserve seat. Mian Altaf said that he will reverse the ST status of Kangan if given such powers in future.
