Poll date rescheduling grossly undemocratic: Mian Altaf

Rajouri, May 1: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and party candidate for Anantnag-Rajouri constituency Mian Altaf Ahmad today said the poll date rescheduling in the constituency is grossly undemocratic.

Talking to media persons, he said,” Show me any example in history where an election was postponed because of an apprehension of mudslide. This is grossly undemocratic."

Mian Altaf is in Rajouri to for campaigning, jointly being organised jointly by National Conference and Congress.

In his statement, Mian Altaf Ahmed said that decision to postpone elections on Anantnag Rajouri parliament seat is unfortunate and against the wishes of people.

"This is perhaps first parliament seat in entire country where just one landslide becomes reason for postponement of elections." he said.
