Srinagar, July 27: Several political leaders have expressed grief and shock over the death of eight persons including five children in Daksum road accident.

In his condolence message National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah said,"I offer my heartfelt condolences to those who are mourning this profound loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families as they navigate through this unimaginable grief. May the departed souls rest in peace, and may their families find the strength and solace to endure this trying time."

 

GHULAM NABI AZAD

 

Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad posted on X, “Shocked by the tragic accident in which 8 people, including 5 children, 2 women and a cop lost their lives. The Kishtwar-Kashmir road is tough and hilly. We must exercise caution and avoid rash driving. I urge the government to compensate the families of the deceased.”

 

OMAR ABDULLAH

 

National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah said, “I send my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the grieving families of those who have been lost in this horrific incident. May they find solace and strength during this unimaginably difficult time. I fervently pray for the success of the ongoing rescue mission, hoping that every effort will be made to bring any survivors to safety."

People's Democratic Party President Mehbooba Muft said, "This heart-wrenching tragedy is a tremendous loss to the families involved and the wider Kishtawar community. On behalf of the People’s Democratic Party and myself, I extend my deepest condolences to those mourning this profound loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families as they navigate through this unimaginable grief", she said in a statement.

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “I am deeply grieving over this tragedy. It is painful to learn that among the eight deceased members of a single family, there are two women and five children aged between 6 and 16. I find myself at a loss for words to express my grief and sorrow over this tragedy. May Almighty Allah grant the departed souls the highest place in Jannah. And, may Allah give the much needed patience to the kith and kin of the victims to bear the pain of this inconsolable and irreparable loss.”

 

MP MIAN ALTAF AHMAD

 

Member of Parliament Anantnag-Rajouri and National Conference senior leader Mian Altaf Ahmad, has expressed grief over the deaths in a tragic road accident in Kokernag, Anantnag.

In a statement he termed the incident most unfortunate, shocking and heart breaking and expressed anguish and pain over the tragic incident, which has claimed precious human lives. Mian Altaf expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
