Political leaders express grief, anguish over Ahmedabad plane crash

Srinagar, Jun 12: Several senior political leaders have expressed deep anguish and grief over the loss of lives in Ahemedabad plane crash.

DR FAROOQ ABDULLAH

National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah while talking to the media offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the Almighty to grant them the strength to bear this colossal loss. He emphasised the need for solidarity and support for the affected families during this difficult time.

"I am deeply saddened by the news of the plane crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones. May God give them the courage to endure this immense loss," Dr Abdullah said.

GHULAM NABI AZAD

President of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad wrote on X, “Deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad. The London-bound flight had 242 people on board, including crew and foreign nationals. My heart goes out to the families affected. Praying for the safety and recovery of survivors.”

MEHBOOBA MUFTI

PDP President Mehbooba Mufti expressed her shock and grief over the mishap. She demanded a thorough probe to fix the responsibility. “We hope the government will conduct a proper investigation to fix the responsibility,”she said.

TARIQ HAMEED KARRA

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC)   President and MLA  Tariq Hameed Karra expressed great shock over the plane tragedy at Ahmedabad . He and other  party leaders prayed for peace to the departed souls besides expressing deep sympathies with the bereaved families. “ I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for peace to the departed souls,” he said.

CP(IM) leader and MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami, wrote on X, “Deeply shocked by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Thinking of all those who lost their lives. My heart goes out to their families and everyone affected by this tragedy.”

People’s Conference President Sajad Gani Lone posted on X, “Heartbreaking. The crash of the Air India aircraft. So many families have lost their loved ones. May they rest in peace.”

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari wrote on X, “The plane crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is heart-breaking. This is an unspeakable tragedy. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace, and may the Almighty grant their loved ones strength, comfort, and patience in this time of immense sorrow.”
