Political leaders condole demise of former Commissioner Secretary G A Peer
Srinagar, Aug 03: Several political leaders on Sunday expressed deep condolences on the sad demise of former Commissioner Secretary G A Peer. The leaders exhibited sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah (who is also chief minister) expressed profound grief on the passing of G A Peer.
“Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed profound grief on the passing of G.A. Peer Sahib, a respected former Commissioner Secretary of J&K,” NC said in a statement.
In their condolence message, the NC leadership remembered him as a thorough gentleman and a dedicated public servant who discharged his duties with honesty and grace. His quiet strength, integrity, and lifelong service to the people of Jammu & Kashmir will always be remembered with respect, statement said.
The leaders extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti also expressed sadness over the demise of former IAS officer. She expressed deepest condolences to his son and other family members.
“Saddened by the death of an efficient and compassionate officer GA Peer. He served the state with distinction and integrity. May Allah grant him a place in Jannat. Deepest condolences to his illustrious son Basharat and the family,” Mehbooba Mufti said on X.
Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir also extended his condolences.
“Sad to know about the sad demise of G A peer ex Comm. Secretary. He was a great man. His contribution is enormous in different capacities. A soft spoken, helpful and a lovely person he was. I had long association with him. Condolences with bereaved. Allah magfirat karay,” Mir said on X.
