Policeman injured in Bemina terror attack

Srinagar, Dec 9: A Jammu and Kashmir Police constable was injured after terrorists fired at him in the Bemina area of Srinagar on Saturday evening.

His condition is stated to be stable and massive searches in the area are underway to nab the terrorists.

“#Terrorists fired upon & injured one police personnel namely Mohammad Hafiz Chad S/O Gh Hassan Chad R/O #Bemina at Hamdaniya colony Bemina. He has been shifted to the hospital for treatment. Area #cordoned off. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice,” Kashmir Zone Police posted on X on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred in Hamdania Colony, Bemina, Srinagar, on Saturday after terrorists whose number was being ascertained opened fire from point-blank range at Muhammad Hafiz Chad.
He has received two bullets - one in the abdomen and another in the arm.

Hafiz is a resident of the border town Tangdhar in Kupwara district and is presently posted at Ban Mohalla Fateh Kadal, Srinagar Police Post.

The terrorist attack on the cop occurred two days after J&K Police Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani succumbed to his injuries.

He was injured in a terror attack in Eidgah in October this year.
