Srinagar, May 15: Awantipora Police on Thursday issued advisory for general public advising them to avoid uploading, circulating or sharing pictures and videos of encounter took place at Nadar Tral. They said sharing such content can unintentionally promote extremist propaganda and may affect the ongoing investigation process.

“General public are advised not to upload, share, or circulate pictures, videos etc related to the encounter that took place at Nadar Tral on 15 may 2025. Sharing such content can unintentionally promote extremist propaganda. It may affect ongoing investigation process. Circulating un-verified information can spread fear/panic,” police spokesperson in an advisory said, and added, “If you come across such content, do not engage with it”.

“Awantipora police requests all citizens to stay away from encounter site, so to ensure their own safety, keeping in view the likelihood of left over explosives from the terrorists. We seek cooperation of general public in this regard,” the advisory held.

Earlier in the day, three terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Nader village of Pulwama district.

Officials said the three terrorists were later identified as Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani and Yawar Ahmad Bhat, all residents of Pulwama.
