Police take action against individual for assaulting parents in Srinagar

Srinagar Sep 7: Police have initiated legal action against an individual accused of assaulting his parents and preventing them from entering their home for over a year in Srinagar.

According to police, the action followed a written complaint filed by the accused’s mother, Taja Banoo, wife of Gh Ahmad Wani.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 77/2024 at Police Station Nowgam, invoking sections 74, 126(2), and 351(2) of the BNS Act. An investigation is currently underway.

The accused, identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani, resident of S A Colony, Nowgam, has been brought in for questioning. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

It is noteworthy that a video of the incident has been circulating on social media, drawing public attention. The citizens have hailed the police action and appealed to IGP Kashmir and SSP Srinagar to give exemplary punishment to the accused.
