Police start investigation in Doda

Ramban, Dec 13: Doda Police initiated inquest proceedings under Bhartaya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), into the mysterious death of a labourer on Friday.

Police said on Friday morning information was received that an unidentified body was lying on a road of stadium near ACD office Doda. They said on getting information Police and FSL teams reached the spot and took the body into custody and shifted it to nearby Hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.

Police later identified the deceased as Tanveer Ahmed a resident of Bhalla, district Doda.  They said Tanveer was working as a labourer in Doda town and was living in a rented accommodation.

SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta told reporters that prima facie it appears that death occurred due to cold (hypothermia). However to ascertain actual cause of death inquest proceed under section 194, BNS was incited at Police Station Doda.
