Police seize smuggled timber from Kashmir parts

Srinagar, Mar 13: Police have recovered illicit timber in Sopore, Baramulla and Budgam and arrested the accused persons involved in the commission of crime.

A police party of police station Dangiwacha headed by SHO PS Dangiwacha during patrolling at village Bonibal Rawoocha, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK05D 3903 driven by Mir Ikhlas Ahmad Abasi resident of Nowpora Hamal Rafiabad.

During the search, officers recovered 10 logs of illicit timber from the vehicle. The accused driver has been arrested and illicit timber has been seized.

Meanwhile in Baramulla, following a reliable information, Police recovered 8 logs of illicit timber (Deodar) from compartment No 9 Bimyar Boniyar besides arresting the accused persons identified as Mushtaq Ahmad , Maroof Ahmad and Ab Rehman, all residents of Bimyar Boniyar.
