Police seize 4 tippers involved in illegal transportation of minerals in Awantipora

Srinagar, Sep 13: J&K Police have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and has seized four vehicles used in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.

A police spokesperson said that acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora seized four tippers bearing registration numbers JK05A-6634, JK03B-5727, JK03B-5628, JK01AG-5872.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 192/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated, he said.

Police appealed community members to extend their cooperation by sharing any information regarding such unlawful activities in their areas, and reiterated its resolve to take strict legal action against those indulging in illegal mining.
