Police, security forces resolute to foil enemy’s designs: DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba range
Srinagar, Nov 09: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jammu-Kathua-Samba range, Shiv Kumar Sharma Saturday said that enemy nation is using every option to disturb peace and tranquility of J&K, and asserted that police, army and other security agencies are resolute to foil their nefarious designs.
Without naming the neighbouring country Pakistan, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma said the enemy nation is leaving no opportunity untouched to disturb peace and order of Jammu and Kashmir. “Enemy nation is using every mean to disturb peace and tranquility of J&K. In recent past the terrorists showed their existence in Jammu region through different incidents. But I want to make it clear that J&K Police and other security agencies are committed to foil the designs of enemy nation with full force,” he said.
He said any infiltrator who will land on the soil of Jammu and Kashmir, will be dispatched back dead. “Our forces are alert to foil any attempt of infiltration. We will neutralize them at any cost,” he said, and added “Our officers and jawans are laying down their lives for the safety of nation, and the fight against terrorism will continue”.
When asked about incidents like Gagangir in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal where terrorists opened fire on construction labourers and killed seven including a local doctor, the DIG Sharma while talking to ETV Bharat said the police and security agencies have conducted meetings with the heads of national projects where security related parameters were briefed for their safety and wellbeing. “The one-to-one meetings are still underway with concerned agencies to ensure their safety and safeguard,” he said.
On the killing of two Village Defense Guard (VDG) members in Kisthwar district, he said terrorists are using every effort to show their existence. “Our forces as well as public are aware about their designs. Public is efficiently coordinating with us in sharing information about suspicious elements in their respective areas. I further appeal them if they observe any suspicious movement, feel free to contact police and other security agencies as their identity will be kept hidden,” DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba range, Shiv Kumar Sharma added.
