Police recover lost mobile phones in Kupwara
Kupwara, Oct 17: Kupwara Police, after recovering seventeen mobile phones over time, handed them over to their rightful owners during a function held at the District Police Office Kupwara on Thursday.
On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara, Ghulam Jeelani Wani, while speaking to the media, said that the mobile phones, worth Rs 2.5 lakhs, were recovered after strenuous efforts by the technical team. These efforts were made following several complaints received by District Police Kupwara regarding missing mobile phones.
He emphasised that the police have always been committed to safeguarding and protecting the people. He also thanked the media for bringing such issues into the limelight, which require attention.
“Kupwara Police assures the public of continued efforts in addressing complaints and maintaining safety and security in the region,” he added.
“I am really thankful to Kupwara Police for handing over my lost mobile phone, which I had lost on 29th June this year. After filing a written complaint at the District Police Office, I received my mobile phone back after three and a half months,” said one of the recipients.
Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Kupwara, G. M. Bhat, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
