Police organise cyber safety awareness event in Sopore
Sopore, Jun 14: To promote digital safety and responsible online behaviour, the Police in Sopore, in collaboration with Shah Rasool Memorial Welkin Higher Secondary School, Sopore, organised a cyber awareness programme aimed at sensitising students to emerging cyber threats and safe internet practices.
SSP Sopore, Iftkhar Talib was the chief guest while cyber security experts from Cyber Police Station Sopore delivered lectures on cyber safety, preventive measures, and the legal framework surrounding cybercrime.
The session covered topics including cyberbullying and online harassment, password protection and online security, safe use of social media platforms, cyberstalking, cyber laws, and digital hygiene.
Addressing the students, SSP Sopore Iftkhar Talib highlighted the vital role youth play in building a secure digital ecosystem.
He urged students to serve as ambassadors of the Policeís cyber unit, spreading awareness among family members, the elderly, and other vulnerable individuals often targeted in cyber frauds.
ìAwareness is the first line of defence in todayís digital world. We want our young citizens to not only protect themselves but also become messengers of cyber safety in their communities,î the SSP Sopore said.
The event witnessed the participation of students and faculty, who lauded the initiative and the practical knowledge imparted.
