Police make fresh arrests in human trafficking racket in Baramulla

Baramulla, July 22: Police in Baramulla have rescued 3 more minor girls and arrested 2 persons involved in human trafficking case.

During the course of investigation of case FIR No 173/2024 of PS Baramulla, it surfaced that 2 more persons identified as Ghulam Mohammad Khan, resident of Narbal and Manzoor Ahmad Shah, resident of Janbazpora, were also involved in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the UT.

Subsequently, a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla, arrested both the accused persons who were shifted to Police Station Baramulla, besides, recovery of three minor victim girls of Rohingya, Burma, was also made.

Pertinent to mention here that accused persons from Baramulla were arrested and 4 minor girls were rescued during the initial investigation of the case.  "This operation demonstrates the commitment of the J&K Police to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals," police said.
