Police holds security meet ahead of 3rd phase of J-K polls in Kupwara
Srinagar, Sept 28: Police on Saturday said, they held a security preparedness and briefing session in north Kashmir's Kupwara ahead of the third phase of the ongoing J-K assembly elections. North Kashmir is among many other districts going to polls in third phase.
The importance of coordination between different security agencies was announced to be mandatory to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the elections, read an official handout.
Detailed instructions were given to officers, who were told to focus on security scenario in the district, law and order maintenance, and handling terrorism related challenges, the handout said.
In addition to district police, the session was attended by army officers, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), BSF, ITBP, and CRPF, said the handout.
Answering queries raised during the session, SSP Kupwara assured full support to ensure smooth execution of responsibilities by the deployed personnel, the handout added.
