Meanwhile, a high-level team from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), camping in Badhaal village to investigate the mysterious deaths of 16 people over the past one and a half months, also expedited its probe.

The team, comprising experts in epidemiology and disease control, is conducting a thorough field probe to determine the cause of the deaths.

They are also studying the epidemiological aspects of the cases to identify any potential links or patterns.

The team, officials said, on Saturday met dozens of people especially from victim families and listened to all the aspects to conduct in-depth study.

Earlier also, a team of NCDC had visited the area to collect samples while this second high-level team was sent a few days ago after a sequence of fresh deaths from January 12 in which seven members of a family lost their lives.

The team's findings would be crucial in helping authorities take necessary measures to prevent further deaths and ensure the health and well-being of the villagers, said officials.
