Police detain 9 teenagers for performing dangerous stunts on highway in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Nov 23: In a swift action against traffic violations and unsafe road behaviour, Ganderbal Police on Saturday detained nine teenagers who were found performing dangerous and life-threatening stunts on the National Highway.

The special drive was conducted at Model Naka Chinar as part of an intensified campaign to curb reckless driving among youth. During the operation, police also seized five modified motorcycles, all carrying concealed or hidden rear registration number plates, a clear violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.

A police official said the detained teenagers will be handed over to their families after proper counselling and the execution of a good-behaviour bond, aimed at preventing any repeat of such hazardous activities.

Ganderbal Police urged parents to remain vigilant about their children’s activities and cautioned young people to refrain from risky stunts that endanger both their own lives and the safety of other road users.
