Police cyber cell solve 2 cases in Ramban

Ramban, Aug 2: Cyber Cell of Ramban Police has solved two more online financial fraud cases and recovered and successfully refunded an amount of Rs 22,598 which was swindled by online scams from two persons on Friday.

There is a considerable increase in the number of cybercrime cases being registered. However, more than one dozen cyber crime cases were reported in Ramban district and around Rs 10 lakh which were swindled by online scams were recovered by the in the last three months.

Police sources said on Friday the cyber cell of Ramban Police has received two complaints regarding online financial fraud. They said after receiving complaints, the cyber cell of Ramban Police immediately swung into action and started investigation into the matter and after hectic efforts recovered the defrauded amount of Rs 22,598 which was swindled by online scams.

To deal with online frauds Jammu and Kashmir Police has established cyber cells at district headquarters in February.
