Ganderbal, Nov 12: As part of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, J&K Police seized seven vehicles, including four tractors and three tippers, involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals from different areas under the jurisdiction of Police Stations Ganderbal and Gund.

The vehicles were found carrying minerals without valid permits and were seized on the spot by police teams in coordination with officials from the Geology and Mining Department.

Police said illegal extraction of minerals not only causes a significant loss to the public exchequer but also leads to serious environmental damage. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to act tough against those indulging in such unlawful activities.
