Police crack burglary cases in Sopore
Sopore, Aug 24: Sopore Police on Saturday said they have solved two burglary cases by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lakhs from their possession.
Police in a statement said that on July 27, Police Station Sopore received a written complaint from Gulshana Begum, resident of Kralteng Sopore stating that she discovered theft of jewelry worth lakhs in her home.
Upon this, a case FIR No. 176/2024 under section 331(3) and 305 of IPC Act was registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation was initiated.
On the directions of SP Sopore Divya Dev, an investigation team comprising SHO Police Station Sopore Inspector Ayaz Gellani and other officials of Police under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir was constituted.
During the course of investigation, the investigating team with strenuous efforts apprehended one Saqib Lateef Sofi of Sempora Sopore, wherein he confessed to committing the theft incident.
On further investigation involvement of Aabid Ahmad Lone of Zaloora Sopore and one jewelry shop owner namely Shakoor Ahmad Zargar of Nigeen bagh Sopore came to fore and they were eventually apprehended.
