Police continue drive against traffic violations in parts of Kashmir
Ganderbal, Nov 20: The drive against traffic violations particularly underage driving by the Traffic Police Rural Kashmir and police in several areas continued on Wednesday.
The drives were carried out in Kangan, Ganderbal and Budgam besides other areas .
SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir RP Singh led the drive in Budgam district where several vehicles were seized and challaned for traffic violations.
“Special drive conducted at budgam humhama where in more than 80 challans were executed and number of vehicles were seized for different violations This drive included the awareness programme for the local populace so that they could follow the traffic rules with the sensibility and honesty to avoid the accidents and fatalities,” SSP said.
Similarly the police team led by SHO police station Kangan Manzoor Ahmed conducted a special drive to check the traffic violations. A police official said that numerous vehicles, primarily two-wheelers, have been seized from individuals driving without valid licenses. “The crackdown has been particularly effective in deterring school students from driving without helmets and licenses,” he said. “The sustained campaign aims to instill a culture of responsible driving and adherence to traffic regulations. By focusing on underage driving and unlicensed individuals, authorities strive to reduce accidents and ensure safer roads for all,” said the official.
