Police conduct search at JEI linked person’s home in Sopore

Sopore, Apr 26: In connection with the investigation of Case FIR No. 42/2025 under Sections 10 and 13 of the UA(P) Act, Sopore Police on Saturday  carried out a search at the residence of an individual associated with the proscribed organization Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI).

An official from police said that the search was conducted after obtaining a warrant from the Court, targeting separatist elements suspected of involvement in unlawful activities threatening public order and national security. "Incriminating material linked to the banned outfit was seized during the search, which was conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, ensuring full legal compliance and procedural transparency", official said.

Official added that Sopore Police remains steadfast in its commitment to dismantling the terror ecosystem and taking firm action against those attempting to disturb peace and stability in the region.
