Police conduct raids in Udhampur, Rajouri
Jammu, Nov 25: Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri and Udhampur districts conducted multiple raids as part of the investigation into a case related to an active terrorist network.
Police said to have recovered incriminating material and documents during these raids. Extensive searches were conducted at multiple locations across the district including Thanamandi, Darhal, Kalakote, and Manjakote.
These searches were carried out as part of investigations linked to Case FIR No. 95/2013 registered at Police Station Thanamandi and Case FIR No. 447/2024 registered at Police Station Rajouri, police said.
The cases pertain to a terrorist network active in Rajouri which with the connivance of proscribed terrorist organisations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been working to activate overground workers (OGWs) in Jammu and Kashmir to initiate, organise, and execute terror-related activities, said police.
During the searches, incriminating materials and documents were recovered and seized and further investigation in these cases continues, police added.
In Udhampur district also, police has conducted similar raids at houses of terror associates in Basantgarh area in terror network case.
"Continuing its crackdown on terror elements, District Police Udhampur conducted extensive searches at multiple locations in Basantgarh area of District Udhampur, including Rai Chak, Kadwah, Ponara, Loudhra, Sang," Udhampur police office said.
These searches were carried out as part of investigation linked to Case FIR No. 27/2024 registered at Police Station Basantgarh, said police.
The locations being searched include the residences and other areas suspected to be linked to individuals involved in the case under investigation, police said.
