Police conduct inspection drive at GMC Handwara

Kupwara, Nov 21: Handwara Police on Friday conducted an extensive inspection drive at Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara as part of heightened vigilance measures being enforced across health institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.

Tehsildar Handwara Zeeshan Khan said the checking was carried out on the directions of SSP Handwara and in coordination with the district administration. Multiple sections of the Associated District Hospital GMC Handwara were inspected, including student and staff lockers.

Superintendent of the Associated District Hospital GMC Handwara, Dr Ajaz Ahmad, said the aim of the exercise was to ensure proper use of storage areas and prevent any possible misuse of facilities. He said the inspection was important for maintaining transparency and strengthening the overall security framework of the institution.

Dr Ajaz added that similar inspections will be conducted every month as part of routine security and administrative measures.
