Police attach property of terror associate under UAPA in Sopore
Sopore, Nov 14: Property of a terror associate was attached in north Kashmir’s Sopore township on Thursday, Police said.
It said that a double-storey property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to a terror associate Aamir Rashid Lone, son of Abdul Rashid Lone of Rasheedabad, Machipora Bomai, Sopore, along with land measuring 15 marlas falling under Khasara No 433 in the area had been attached.
The Police said that the attachment was executed under the provisions of Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after receiving approval from the competent authority.
It said that the attachment has been made in case FIR No 26/2024, registered under Sections 18, 20, 23, 38, and 39 of the UA(P) Act and 7/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Bomai.
Police said that the attachment of the property was a part of the ongoing efforts to choke the financial and logistical support for terror organisations and their enablers.
It said that this action reaffirms the commitment of the Police in Sopore to combat terrorism and disrupt the support structures that enable these nefarious activities.
