Kulgam, Jan 23: Police in Kulgam, in a display of prompt action, compassion, dedication and commitment to public service, responded to another distress call amidst incessant snowfall and slippery road in the region.

A police official said that a distress call from Uppermunda, Qazigund was received for assistance, stating that one lady along with her newborn baby were stuck on way at Chango Crossing and the family members were unable to take them to home at their own because of incessant snowfall and slippery road.

He said that on the directions of SSP Kulgam, a team of police led by IC PP Jawahar Tunnel under the supervision of ASP NHW Qazigund, Kulgam was constituted and despite of adverse weather conditions, shifted the lady along with her new born baby on foot to their residential place at Uppermunda Gujjar basti, Qazigund safely, where the respectables especially family members of the said lady thanked SSP Kulgam for prompt action and assistance.

The official said the timely intervention underscore J&K Police's unwavering dedication to serving the community, even in challenging circumstances.
