Police asks ex-servicemen to disseminate information on suspicious activities
Poonch, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir police in Poonch district has asked the ex-servicemen of forces to disseminate information of any kind of suspicious movement especially of terrorists, drugs peddlers and bovine smugglers with nearby establishments.
They (ex-servicemen) have been requested for this cooperation during a meeting convened at district police lines Poonch which was chaired by newly posted SSP Shafket Hussain.
Police said that in order to interact with ex-servicemen and to listen to their issues, SSP Poonch Shafket Hussain on Wednesday held a meeting with these Ex-Servicemen of District Poonch.
The meet was conducted at district police lines Poonch in which around hundreds of ex-servicemen from army participated.
At the outset, the SSP Poonch asked about the wellbeing of the ex-servicemen and also apprised them that District Police Poonch is committed towards wellbeing and welfare of the Ex-servicemen and their families and seek their cooperation as a helping hand to police.
The SSP Poonch stressed upon the participants that the Ex-servicemen are assets to the society and they have an active role to play as a responsible citizen helping the law enforcement agencies particularly Police in detection and prevention of crime.
The chair also appraised the participants about security scenario of the district and they were asked to keep surveillance over any suspicious movement in and around their habitation and timely inform police about any such movement.
The participants were also asked to keep close liaison with the jurisdictional Police, SOG Units and disseminate intelligence particularly on militancy, narcotics, bovine and allied fronts.
The participants assured the chair about all sorts of cooperation with DySP HQ Poonch Pankaj Soodan, DySP OPs Ahjaz Ahmad among other officers were also present during the meeting.
