Police arrest drug peddler in Budgam

Budgam, Sep 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Budgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance and cash from his possession.

A Police party of PP Humhama during naka checking, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag who on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but he was apprehended tactfully.

He has been identified as Rayees Ahmed Mir, resident of Mohanpora Narkara. During the search, 2 sticks of Charas weighing about 58 grams, 1 mobile phone and cash was recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 376/2024 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.

"People are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood," police said.
