Police arrest drug peddler in Budgam

Budgam, Sep 09: Police in Budgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party of PP Narbal at a checkpoint established at Javid Colony, Bazar Mohalla, Narbal intercepted a suspicious person identified as Khazir Mohd Sheikh, resident of Bazar Mohalla Narbal. During the search, 83 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 122/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Magam and investigation has been initiated.

“People are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood,” police said.
