Police arrest 2 drug peddlers in Sopore

Sopore, Oct 3: Police in Sopore have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.

A police party from the Police Post Fruit Mandi, lead by the In-Charge of PP Fruit Mandi, apprehended the two individuals in a suspicious condition while patrolling at Nowpora Bypass Road. During the search, officers recovered 540 banned tablets of Alprazolam from their possession.

Accordingly, a case has been registered under FIR No. 223/2024 at the Police Station Sopore, and an investigation has been initiated.

“The general public is requested to cooperate with the police in curbing the menace of drugs in society. We assure community members that the J&K Police will take strict action against criminals in accordance with the law,” police said.
