Police arrest 2 drug peddlers in Sopore
Sopore, Oct 21: In an effort to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, police in Sopore have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police team from the Sopore Police Station, headed by the Station House Officer (SHO) under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sopore, apprehended two individuals at a checkpoint established at Adipora Crossing.
The suspects have been identified as Junaid Ahmad Mir, and Riyaz Ahmad Parra, both residents of Adipora Sopore. During the search, officers recovered 7 grams of heroin from their possession.
Accordingly, a case has been registered under FIR No 230 at the Sopore Police Station, and an investigation has been initiated.
“The general public is requested to cooperate with the police in curbing the drug menace in society. We reassure community members that the police will take a strong stance against criminals in accordance with the law,” police said.
