Police announce Rs 5 lakh reward for information about terrorists’ presence in Poonch

Rajouri, Nov 17: The Police Monday announced a reward money of Rs 5 lakh for “any credible and actionable information regarding presence and movement of terrorists or their associates” in Poonch district.

In this connection, a detailed public advisory was also issued by the Police in the border district Poonch.

As per official statement, as a part of public-safety initiative, aimed at strengthening community participation in the fight against terrorism, the District Police Poonch announced a reward of Rs 5,00,000 for any credible, specific, and actionable information regarding the presence or movement of terrorists or their associates in any part of the district.

Police also reiterated that the identity of all informers would be kept absolutely confidential to ensure their safety.

“The public is urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any information particularly related to individuals involved in terrorist activities,” the advisory read.

People have been asked to inform about “terror sympathisers supplying food, shelter, or essential items to terrorists, providing logistics, including transport, safe houses, or movement assistance, maintaining communication or contact with terrorists and passing information regarding the movement of security forces.”

They have also been asked to share information of those facilitating finances, recruitment, networking, or coordination for terrorist activities.

“Citizens may share information through the helpline numbers on whatsapp, telegram and the numbers include Poonch Police Control Room (PCR) +91 90862 53188, DySP Surankote 91030 11723, DySP Headquarters Poonch 95419 00975 and DySP Mendhar 95419 12377,” the advisory read.

“Information can also be shared with any nearest Police Station or Police Post,” it added.
