Police act against illegal mining operations in Baramulla, 4 vehicles seized
Srinagar, Dec 07: In its sustained efforts to curb illegal mining activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized four tippers involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla.
According to the statement, Baramulla Police seized four tippers loaded with illegally extracted stones at Iqbal Market, Old Town Baramulla. The vehicles were intercepted during routine checks, and upon verification, it was found that the material had been extracted without legal permission. Immediate action was initiated, and the seizure was executed strictly in accordance with the provisions of the MMDR Act.
J&K Police remains committed to curbing illegal mining activities and urges the public to support lawful extraction practices to safeguard natural resources. Strict action shall continue against all violators involved in such unlawful activities, the statement reads.
