Srinagar, April 11: Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated on Friday that Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) is an integral part of India. Speaking at a summit hosted by a national news channel in New Delhi, Shah emphasized that India’s position on POJK is not just a political claim, but a strong legal stance backed by historical documents and evidence.

He said India's stand on POJK has always been clear and firm, rooted in both historical context and legal grounds.

Commenting on the ongoing political crisis in Pakistan, Shah stated that the country (Pakistan) has failed to manage its internal affairs and should focus on resolving its own problems.

“India is not supporting the Balochistan movement. Certain provinces in Pakistan are unhappy with the way the Pakistani government is functioning,” Shah responded to a question.

Pakistan has been grappling with a separatist insurgency in Balochistan for decades. Militants in the resource-rich southwestern province, which borders Afghanistan and Iran, have frequently targeted state forces and foreign nationals, accusing the Pakistani state of exploiting the region's resources while denying the Baloch people their share of the benefits.

In March, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) carried out a dramatic train siege. Officials said the incident resulted in around 60 deaths, including some of the separatists involved in the attack.
