New Delhi, Mar  20: The eagerly awaited visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bhutan has been postponed due to ongoing adverse weather conditions in the region. The decision was made mutually as continuous rainfall and poor weather conditions persist in Bhutan.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, "Due to ongoing inclement weather conditions over Paro airport, it has been mutually decided to postpone the State visit of Prime Minister to Bhutan on 21-22 March 2024. New dates are being worked out by the two sides through diplomatic channels."

The invitation extended by Bhutan's newly elected Prime Minister Tobgay on behalf of the King of Bhutan during his recent visit to India was graciously accepted by Prime Minister Modi.
