PM unveils 77-feet Ram statue in Goa

Goa, Nov 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 77-foot bronze statue of lord Ram at the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Canacona, South Goa, as part of the 550th-year celebrations of the Math.

He also inaugurated a Ramayana Theme Park Garden and released a special postal stamp and commemorative coin to mark the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the Math, the first Gowd Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava Math, following the Dvaita tradition of Jagadguru Madhvacharya, has stood strong for centuries as a centre of spiritual guidance and public welfare.

He called the new installations a lasting source of “knowledge, inspiration and spiritual practice” for future generations.
