PM to visit Jordan, Ethiopia, Oman from Dec 15-18
New Delhi, Dec 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation tour to Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman from December 15 to 18, 2025, the Ministry of External Affairs announced in a statement on Thursday.
According to the MEA, the visit begins in Jordan on December 15–16 at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein.
The PM and the Jordanian monarch will review the full spectrum of bilateral ties and exchange views on key regional developments.
The trip coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. New Delhi sees the visit as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation, expand new areas of partnership, and reaffirm a shared commitment to regional peace, security and stability.
In the second leg of the tour, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Ethiopia from December 16-17, following an invitation from Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.
This will be his first visit to the country.
The two leaders will hold wide-ranging discussions on India-Ethiopia ties.
The MEA said the visit highlights the two nations’ shared priorities as partners in the Global South and their commitment to advancing friendship and developmental cooperation.
The tour will conclude in Oman from December 17–18, where the Prime Minister will visit at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
This will be PM Modi’s second visit to the Sultanate, with India and Oman marking 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2025.
The talks will cover key pillars of the strategic partnership, including trade, investment, energy, defence, security, technology, agriculture and cultural exchanges.
Both sides will also discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The MEA said the visit reflects India’s continued focus on deepening ties with West Asia and Africa through high-level engagement, economic cooperation and shared strategic priorities.
