PM speaks to Ukrainian President

New Delhi, Aug 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

President Zelenskyy briefed the Prime Minister on recent developments in Ukraine. Reaffirming India’s consistent stand, PM Modi stressed the need for a peaceful settlement of the conflict and assured India’s support for all efforts aimed at the earliest restoration of peace.

The two leaders also reviewed progress in India-Ukraine bilateral ties and explored ways to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Both agreed to remain in regular contact. The phone call is important as soon PM Modi will have a bilateral meeting with Putin at the sidelines of SCO.
