PM says Operation Sindoor showed India’s military strength, youth’s role in modern warfare
New Delhi, Jan 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said Operation Sindoor reaffirmed India’s military strength, the valour of its armed forces and the growing role of indigenous defence technology, asserting that future wars will be fought not just with guns and tanks but also through technology, innovation and cyber capabilities. Addressing the Annual NCC PM Rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in New Delhi, Modi praised NCC cadets for their contribution during the operation, saying they stood firmly with the armed forces at a critical moment for national security. Lauding a tableau on Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister said NCC cadets played an important supporting role by organising blood donation camps, providing first-aid services and assisting security forces, reflecting the spirit of “Nation First” ingrained through NCC training.
He noted that such values prepare young Indians to serve the country not only in ceremonial roles but also in times of crisis.
Modi said Operation Sindoor also highlighted the advancement of Made-in-India defence capabilities, underlining that India is rapidly strengthening its self-reliance in weapons and military technology. He stressed that nations lagging in technology are weak not only economically but also in terms of security. “In today’s era, wars are not fought only on borders with weapons, but also in code and cloud,” the Prime Minister said, emphasising that technological skills among youth have become central to national defence. He pointed to new opportunities opening up for young Indians in the armed forces through defence startups, artificial intelligence, drones and advanced military innovation. Calling on the youth to seize these opportunities, Modi said innovation-driven patriotism strengthens national security and ensures India remains prepared for future challenges. He added that the discipline and values instilled through NCC training give young Indians a decisive edge in both conventional and modern forms of warfare. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior dignitaries were present at the event.
