PM Modi’s strong willpower ended terrorism, separatism, stone pelting in J&K: LoP Sunil Sharma
Jammu, Mar 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition in J&K Assembly, Sunil Sharma said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong willpower has ended terrorism, separatism and stone pelting in Jammu and Kashmir.
He was responding to disassociation of two Hurriyat outfits – Jammu & Kashmir Peoples’ Movement, and Democratic Political Movement – from separatism.
“Two organizations have disassociated themselves from separatism which is a welcome step. This materialized only due to the strong willpower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who contained terrorism, separatism and stone pelting energetically. He banned their organizations and lodged their leaders in jails. That is why such outfits are severing ties with separatism today and joining mainstream,” LoP Sharma told reporters in Jammu.
He slammed Congress and other regional political parties, saying they bowed their heads before such organizations in their tenure.
Earlier Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged more groups to shun separatism after two organizations of Hurriyat announced severing ties with separatism.
“Separatism has become history in Kashmir. The unifying policies of the Modi government have tossed separatism out of J&K. Two organizations of the Hurriyat, J&K People’s Movement and the Democratic Political Movement, have announced the severing of all ties with separatism,” said Shah, in a post on X.
“I welcome this step towards strengthening Bharat’s unity and urge all such groups to come forward and shed separatism once and for all,” he said.
“It is a big victory for PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of building a developed, peaceful and unified Bharat,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah said.
