PM Modi writes foreword for Italian PM’s autobiography in India

New Delhi, Sep 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written the foreword for the Indian edition of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s autobiography I Am Giorgia – My Roots, My Principles.

In his note, he highlighted Meloni’s journey, linking it to the concept of women’s empowerment and drawing parallels with India’s traditions of respecting feminine energy, reports ANI and TOI.

Modi described her leadership as rooted in values and traditions while being confident on the global stage, and said this reflects a strong connection with India. He also underlined that shared civilizational instincts and values form the basis of his personal friendship with Meloni. The book release comes as India and Italy continue to strengthen their partnership across political, cultural, and strategic spheres. Modi expressed confidence that the autobiography would provide readers with insights into Meloni’s political journey and further enrich mutual understanding between the two countries.

The rapport between the two leaders has frequently drawn attention, with their camaraderie earning the popular social media tag “#Melodi” during international events. Recently, they also spoke over the phone to exchange views on regional and global issues, with Meloni extending birthday greetings to Modi.
