PM Modi to visit Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura on Sep 22
New Delhi, Sep 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on September 22 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects valued at more than Rs 5100 crore.
In Itanagar, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for two major hydroelectric projects, the 240 MW Heo and the 186 MW Tato-I, worth over ₹3,700 crore in the Siyom sub-basin. The projects are aimed at harnessing Arunachal Pradesh’s vast hydroelectric potential and promoting sustainable energy in the region.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art convention centre at Tawang, located at an altitude of over 9,800 feet. Designed to host more than 1,500 delegates, the centre will serve as a venue for international conferences, cultural festivals, and exhibitions, strengthening the region’s tourism and cultural appeal. In addition, he will launch multiple infrastructure projects worth ₹1,290 crore, covering sectors such as connectivity, healthcare, fire safety, and working women’s hostels. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to interact with local taxpayers, traders, and industry representatives to discuss the impact of recent GST rate rationalisation.
Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Tripura, where he will perform puja and darshan at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati district. He will inaugurate the redevelopment of the temple complex under the Centre’s PRASAD scheme. The project, designed in the shape of a tortoise when viewed from above, features upgraded pathways, renovated entrances, improved drainage, and a three-storeyed facility with stalls, a meditation hall, guest accommodations, and office space. Officials said the redevelopment is expected to boost tourism, create jobs, and drive socio-economic growth in the state.
