New Delhi, Sep 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as the Chief Guest on October 1, 2025. The event will be held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, beginning at 10:30 a.m. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will release a specially designed stamp and also address the gathering. The RSS, founded in 1925 in Nagpur by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, was established as a volunteer-based organisation aimed at fostering cultural awareness, discipline, service, and social responsibility. Over the decades, it has emerged as one of the most influential socio-cultural movements in India.

Described as a people-driven movement for national reconstruction, the Sangh emphasises patriotism, discipline, self-restraint, courage, and devotion to the motherland. Its guiding principle, “Sarvangeena Unnati” (all-round development), underlines the commitment of every Swayamsevak to the nation’s progress.

In its 100-year journey, the RSS has been active in fields ranging from education and healthcare to social welfare and disaster relief. Its volunteers have consistently played a role in relief and rehabilitation during floods, earthquakes, and cyclones, while affiliated organisations have worked towards youth empowerment, women’s participation, farmers’ welfare, and strengthening local communities. The centenary celebrations are expected to not only honour the historical legacy of the RSS but also showcase its continuing role in India’s cultural and social development, with a renewed emphasis on unity and national pride.
